Blogger recieves death threats

BBC News and Slashdot, amongst others, are reporting that noted blogger Kathy Sierra is getting death threats and this has caused her to stop blogging and cancel appearances.

The popular author and conference speaker has generated a number of questions about the sexist attitude that some Internet users still have to women online. She told the BBC News Website:

"I agonised about making this post but I hoped it would start a dialogue"

Sadly it looks like this may be the end of her blogging:

I have cancelled all speaking engagements. I am afraid to leave my yard, I will never feel the same. I will never be the same," she said on her blog."

In other blogging news, Gartner have published some research on those who abandon their blogs. While mentioning some blogs that have been abandoned, they appear to have missed one of the most famous ones - Charles Dunstone's Carphone Warehouse one, which has suddenly stopped being promoted on their website also.
