BT has finally caught up to much of the rest of the industry, in that they will now be charging £4.50 per quarter for customers who do not pay by Direct Debit.Trading Standards has dismissed this as unjustified, but it is true that it is far more hassle and cost for providers to accept manual payment methods and some of their customers need to learn to move with the times and pay by what is a far more convenient method for the customer and the provider.
And the Direct Debit guarantee is there should something go wrong.
