Bullies go high tech

A report in this week's Telegraph tells us of how bullies are going high tech and taking their goading onto the latest range of new devices, such as iPod videos and distributing personal moments such as changing room videos of the victims to their classmates.

This is in addition to other methods such as bullying being undertaken by e-mail and text messages.

The article suggests than 1 in 10 boys and 1 in 5 girls between the ages of 11 and 14 have been bullied by text or e-mail, and that the abuse is now starting to move to some of the Web2.0 social networking sites such as MySpace.

Researcher Nathalie Noret said:
"Anecdotally it seems that as soon as a new technology emerges, adolescents are very quick to learn how to use it for bullying."
