Interesting maps service

Since Google Maps launched, a number of sites have taken advantage of the service to promote other products and services. Funded by the standard Google advertising revenue model rather than paying a license fee for Ordinance Survey maps, a number of interesting applications have arisen.

One of these is called ononemap, and this lets you overlay your local area map with the location of secondary schools and mobile phone masts - the things that can be key decision factors when buying a house. This site is a portal to property listings, but an useful resource all the same - and confirms that there's no mobile masts near my house!

According to the story in The Guardian last week more is to be added:
"... hope to add the locations of primary schools, preschools, cash machines and post offices."
