Latest global broadband subscribers

Point Topic have published an updated list of the world's biggest countries by broadband subscribers and the end of 2006, and comparing them with the same point a year before.

The USA still leads the way, with China catching up quickly. The UK comes in at 7th on the table:
  • USA 57.3m (46.1m @ end of 2005)
  • China 51.8 (37.5)
  • Japan 26m (22.6m)
  • Germany 14.6m (10.7m)
  • South Korea 14m (12.1m)
  • France 13.9m (9.9m)
  • UK 13.1m (9.8m)
  • Italy 8.8m (6.9m)
  • Canada 7.8m (6.8m)
  • Spain 6.7m (4.8m)
65.7% of broadband users are on ADSL services.
