Spotted a front page article on USA Today's Money section while I was away about the power of Federated Identity, particularly in reference to OpenID - intriguing to see that the mainstream media are finally catching onto what a big deal this is.The article quotes a number of the usual suspects, such as Microsoft's Kim Cameron:
"The Internet was built without an identity system, which is incredible in retrospect - that limits what you can do with it and exposes you to theft, deception and spam."It also quotes from figures from Identity provider JanRain stating that there will be up to 15,000 OpenID enabled sites by the end of 2007.
