Paint your network

Securing your wireless network can be quite a task, particularly if you're not that technically savvy - although the likes of Affinegy are making significant usability improvements, meaning that there's less multi character WEP keys and SSID codes.

One particularly novel solution has come to light - paint.

EM-SEC Technologies have developed a coating system that acts as an electromagnetic fortress, allowing the network to be contained within four walls.

EM-SEC's Robert Boyd said:
"The use of EM-SEC Coating as an electromagnetic barrier for the containment of wireless networks has opened a new realm of possibilities for our company and for the future of wireless communications.

As hackers, identity thieves and even terrorists become more sophisticated in the methods they use to obtain information or inflict damage, this experiment confirmed EM-SEC Coating reduces the threat from electronic eavesdropping and blocks out electromagnetic interference for the protection of electronic data."
For those (like me) who are doing decorating, bear it in mind - it might help the re-sale value of your home in years to come!
