Id software's Todd Hollenshead has come out with a stark warning that the future of PC gaming might be Doomed (ho ho) as the industry is losing huge amounts of sales through the rampant spread of piracy - estimated to cost 50% of sales in North America and as much as 90% of sales in Asia.Hollenshead states that the PC is in danger of becoming relegated to a second class platform for gaming, with the console being the platform of choice for software developers, meaning that keen gamers would have no choice but to have lots of additional wires in their house if they wish to remain gamers.
In a resigned tone, he stated:
"Every major project we have worked on has somehow found its way to the internet."
