Students sue anti plaigarism service

Some students in Virginia are suing online content vetting site Turnitin for a breach of copyright.

The service checks papers from the students against known works to ensure no content is copied, but the trouble is that it also stores any uploaded content - which the students rightly claim could be a breach of copyright.

The clued up students have formally copyrighted their papers, so they must have a good case.

This brings to the fore yet again the issue with students submitting copied content rather than their original works.
