US Government department ban further Microsoft upgrades

Some more news that Bill Gates isn't going to like, on the back of what are being reported as sluggish sales of his new Windows Vista Operating System.

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Department of Transportation (DOT) has banned any further Microsoft upgrades on the grounds that they are unnecessary and the business case does not stack up.

CIO Daniel Mintz said:
"There appears to be no compelling technical or business case for upgrading to these new Microsoft software products. Furthermore, there appears to be specific reasons not to upgrade."
It's an indefinite moratorium - and is 1st the first of many we'll see as companies doubt the Microsoft sales machine?
