BT have broken one of the golden rules of the industry, by tempting fate and stating that there's no real danger of the UK being affected by a mass infrastructure failure on the Internet such as the one that has hit The Middle East and Asia with a cable cut at the port of Alexandria in Egypt.A spokesperson said:
"We do have pretty substantial resilience.Batten down the hatches for a big nationwide fault then!
We can't go into any more detail about the network for obvious national security reasons, but the UK is linked to the US and Europe by quite a few sub-sea cables."
