The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is looking into a request from serial anti-Phorm campaigner Alexander Hanff to launch a private prosecution over BT's stealth trials of the controversial contextual advertising system. The trials had previously been cleared by the City of London police, which has led BT doing a full trial out in the open at the moment.
The CPS confirmed on Wednesday that they are looking into the case, but were unable to say how long it would take to come to a conclusion on whether a prosecution will happen or not.
