Tiscali on the slide

Clearly it's very fashionable to be losing broadband punters at the low cost entry (OK, cheap) end of the market - with Tiscali now following Orange's lead by reporting a drop in their customer base over the last quarter.

Tiscali's base now sits at 1.774m punters - now behind Sky, who are in talks to buy them - and their customer base is down 64,000 on a quarter previously ... which was also down on the quarter before that.

In their Q3 results Tiscali also reported that 889,000 of their customers are on the LLU network they run, which makes them a more profitable group of customers for the Italian-owned operation. Tiscali have 950 exchanges unbundled now, which gives them 60% coverage of the UK.
