Orange rules out ISP closure

Orange has ruled out the closure of their ISP arm as part of a radial shakeup of their business, today's Guardian reports:
... Orange, which has 12,000 employees in the UK. Management consultants are understood to have been working their way round the business, which is owned by France Telecom.

Although a radical shake-up involving the closure of the former Wanadoo internet service provider business has been rejected, a significant number of job losses are believed to be on the cards.
Orange are being hit as hard as the other mobile providers with across the board job cuts being expected in the new year, but a closure of their ISP division would be a mistake - they need to invest in it in a converged world - or at least to sell it off to someone who will.
