Cablevision rolls out 101Mb broadband

New York-based cable operator Cablevision has announced that they are to launch an up to 101Mb broadband service as they seek to compete against the FTTH offerings of Verizon's FiOS service.

The 5th largest cable provider in the US are set to price the service at nearly USD$100 per month and it will come with an upload speed of up to 15Mb.

The service is enabled through use of the same DOCSIS3 technology that Virgin Media are currently rolling out for their 50Mb service.
