BT have stated that they believe the government's proposed 50p per month (levied on fixed line telco lines) broadband tax is insufficient to fund the rollout of next generation broadband networks to the entire country.Director of strategy Liv Garfield is quoted as saying:
"I could see a way to get to 80, 85 per cent with [the fund generated by the fibre tax] but I struggle a little more if it is up to 100. It’s impossible to get up to 100."That's still a lot further ahead than we are today.
