Microsoft are set to launch a free (advertising funded) web based version of their Microsoft Office suite of applications, in what is a move to match Google Docs - the ad based applications offered by their big competitor.It will be a 'lighter' more web-friendly version of their software, but naturally they are bigging it up as supposedly being better than Google Docs. It's set to launch in 2010, and marks a big deal for Microsoft in making one of their core software assets available free online - setting a big precedent.
