Google is taking advantage of automated recognition software to launch in video captioning on 13 channels of their YouTube video sharing site.The system, developed by a deaf engineer at Google, is initially launching in English only but further languages are expected to be supported in the future.
The engineer said of the development:
"The majority of user-generated video content online is still inaccessible to people like me."Alternately, site users can upload a transcript of their video with smart auto-linking technology doing the hard work.
