EMI Ireland has launched a lawsuit against cable provider UPC - better known as Chorus NTL - over their customers file sharing their copyright content without permission.Previously in the Emerald Isle, Eircom had agreed to take action against pirates by implementing a French-style 'three strikes' system and the 'big four' music labels had already collectively filed a lawsuit against UPC and BT - but this move marks action by EMI Ireland direct.
UPC are refusing to cower to the demands of the music industry, which is said to be worth €100m in Ireland.
