Virgin launches Digital Help company

A new company has been added to the Virgin Group of businesses headed up by Sir Richard Branson - Virgin Digital Help.

The company will help consumers with PCs, wireless networks, gaming consoles and other technology that frustrates them and they need help to make it work.

Subscribers - paying £2.99 per month - will get access to a range of help information and automated fixes for problems, paying more for phone support and home visits.

The company is headed up by Virgin Mobile co-founder Jo Steel, who said of the launch:
"People now have real emotional connections with their gadgets.

When they don't work or when they don't connect to each other properly, we just feel lost."
To support the launch they released some PR suggesting that users are afraid to try new technology and that people will try to fix things themselves rather than spend a shorter time speaking to phone support - backing up their business opportunity.
