South Australia bans anonymous comments

News of a ridiculous and draconian Internet law that the state of Utah would be proud of - the South Australian people are being banned from taking part in anonymous debate about their upcoming state elections, with anyone commenting online being forced to reveal their full name and address.

Media companies have to keep details of posters on file for six months as part of the legislation supported by both the state's government and the opposition, and will be fined A$5,000 if they don't hand it over.

The law also appears to apply to Facebook and Twitter, and they'd be very short tweets if you need to include your full name and address in them ... so be very careful if you're telling your politicians to rack off!
