Will faster broadband become an election issue?

The Country Land & Business Association are trying to make faster broadband speeds an election issue, having welcomed the statements from the Tories about providing faster broadband to all should they win the next election - but not being happy with the timescale of it taking up until 2017 before it's completed.

They are inviting those interested in the cause of faster rural broadband together for an event in London (which wasn't in the countryside last time I looked) in early March so that they can "set and focus on a series of lobbying objectives".

It will be interesting to see how much attention they manage to grab.
