Only a few days after an erroneous e-mail to the company's subscribers caused some confusion (which they have since cleared up), Virgin Media is recovering after an outage to their broadband service affected some customers across the country last night. The blackout was a routing problem that hit the company's punters at peak time last night, and a spokesman told the BBC:
"Our customers may have experienced some problems getting online yesterday evening. Our engineers quickly fixed the problem and service was restored by 8pm. We apologise for the inconvenience."Any customers still affected by the problem after 8pm were advised to restart their equipment to reestablish their connection.
Virgin are to double more than 4 million of their customers' speeds over the next 18 months.
